An alarm clock has one job. Clockula does it every time:
- Time zones and clock changes are handled for you.
- Alarms keep ringing through a restart.
- Your phone gets checked for the settings that quietly stop alarms.
- More than 1,400 automated tests cover every repeat pattern and both daylight
saving switches.
The timers, stopwatch and world clock get the same care, wrapped in Material 3
Expressive design.
Clockula is the third app in the Floret family, after the
Calendula calendar and the Agendula task
list. All three share floret-kit, so they look and feel
alike. All three are free and open source.
There’s nothing to install yet, but every feature here works and the first
release is on its way. Follow along on Codeberg until then. The
privacy policy is already up. It’s short, because the app
collects nothing.
Features
Alarms you can count on
Battery saving leaves Clockula's alarms alone, and your lock screen shows the next one. Changed time zones? Clocks went forward? A 7am alarm still rings at 7am. Even a restart mid-ring won't stop it.
Warns you before it fails
Battery savers, a muted alarm volume or Do Not Disturb can all silence an alarm. Clockula checks for them and takes you to the right setting. Better now than at 7am.
Wake up your way
Any sound on your phone. Volume that builds up slowly. Vibration. Skip one morning and keep the rest of the week. Heavy sleeper? Add a maths problem or a long press before the alarm turns off. It gives way after three wrong answers or a minute, so you're never stuck.
Timers for a busy kitchen
Run several timers at once and name each one. Start from a preset, add a minute with one tap, pause from the notification shade.
A stopwatch that keeps your laps
Split and total times for every lap, fastest and slowest marked. Close the app and your laps are still there.
The world on one clock face
Add any city. See how far ahead it is and whether it's day or night there, on an analog face built from Material's expressive shapes.
Part of your phone
Widgets for your next alarm, a running timer or the time. Your voice assistant can set alarms and timers in it. Colours can follow your wallpaper.
Private, and yours to keep
No account, no ads, no tracking, no internet permission. Back up everything to a file and take it to your next phone.
Frequently asked
Is Clockula free?
Yes. It's free and open source under the MIT licence, with no ads and no account. The code is on Codeberg.
When is Clockula coming out, and where can I get it?
Soon, though there's no date yet. Every feature on this page already works. It will come to Codeberg, my own F-Droid repository and Google Play first, then the official F-Droid repository.
Will my alarm still ring if my phone restarts or I travel?
Yes. Alarms come back after a restart, keep ringing through one, and adjust when the time zone or daylight saving time changes.
Does Clockula need an internet connection?
No. It has no internet permission, so it can't send anything anywhere. The privacy policy has the details.
Can Google Assistant or Tasker set alarms in Clockula?
Yes, if they use Android's standard alarm and timer commands. Those are the same ones the stock clock app answers to.
